WOW Story of the Week from Sunscape Dorado!

This story began when Mrs. O approached the concierge to book a beach dinner for her family (herself, husband and 2 kids) so they could celebrate Nathaly’s 9th birthday. Nathaly had chosen to come on vacation instead of having a birthday party, but Mrs. Or could tell that although her daughter had preferred to come to the beach, she was also sad because she wasn’t going to have a birthday party.

The concierge asked a couple of questions about the birthday girl and discovered that her favorite TV show is “I’m Luna,” and that’s how the plan started! The concierge sent an email to all of the resort employees asking staff to sing “Las Mañanitas” to Nathaly. The training team helped create a large frame to be used as a prop for photos with “I’m Luna” as the theme. The stewards decorated the lounge with the TV show’s colors, the pastry team made and decorated the birthday cake and the entertainment team helped with the music and celebration hats.

Dinner on the beach was scheduled to start at 6 p.m., but the family was called to come to the Starlight Lounge prior to dinner. They were met by 15 staff members forming a welcome line and the photographer from Adventure Photos, who was able to capture all of the details of the memorable surprise!

Nathaly could not believe what was happening! She was so happy to see she could still have a birthday party, and that it was at the beach! She was especially excited that everything was created to match her favorite show! Her mother couldn’t stop thanking the resort for having put together a surprise for her daughter and for the resort’s commitment to go above and beyond. Mrs. O said, “I would like to thank the resort for the surprise for my daughter, it was something that we did not expect! Now I will make a commitment to return for my son’s birthday in January – I want to celebrate it here!”
