In 1937, AAA hired its first hotel and restaurant inspectors to travel America’s roads and report their findings for AAA members.
Today, AAA is the only entity that employs a staff of full-time, professionally trained inspectors to evaluate properties on an ongoing basis. AAA also rates more hotels, restaurants and attractions than any other professional rating system – over 77,000 and counting.
All AAA inspections are unannounced to ensure an unbiased experience. Properties do not pay to be inspected, rated or listed by AAA because the program exists to serve AAA/CAA members. Our goal is to provide members with solid, trusted recommendations on places to eat, stay and play.
