For all my Wine-O’s out there, Every Wednesday we will showcase a different wine, vineyard, wine destination, or wine product to celebrate Wine Wednesday.  To kick it off it is none other than Napa Valley & Sonoma.  The chic area of Northern California known as Wine Country is the ultimate ‘chosen land’ for high quality wine production in the United States. Though it wasn’t until the 1970s that the region was taken seriously as a major contender in the wine industry, today both Napa and Sonoma Valleys flourish with hundreds of internationally celebrated wineries.
Napa Valley, Sonoma, St. Helena, American Canyon, Yountville, Calistoga, and Lake Berryessa produce some of the finest wines in the world and are all fabulous settings for everything from day trips to weekend getaways.  The perfect destination for your bachelor/bachelorette party or spa trip with wine inspired treatments.  Whether you desire a cab, pinot grigio or bordeaux you can find it all in Northern Cali and can tour some of the great vineyards and some of my favorites Alexander Valley Vineyards, Robert Mondavi Winery, Cakebread Cellars, Caymus Vineyards, and one of my favorites Silver Oak Cellars.
One of my favorite wine inspired quotes comes from Robert Mondavi – Â “Wine to me is Passion. It’s family and friends. Â It’s warmth of heart and generosity of spirit.”

Looking forward to your Wednesday wine showcases. One of my favorite hidden gems in Napa is Y. Rousseau. The “Y” is Yannick (Rousseau), a transplant from Gascony, France who is making his native wines here in NorCal (Colombard and Tannat). We live in Napa and have been to so many wineries but really enjoy tasting there. The wines are great …and still affordable…and you can arrange tastings with the winemaker. Check out our wine country blog: http://www.topochinesvino.com. We feature him a couple of articles ago along with some of our favorite wineries in the area. Follow us if you like what you see. PS – I love that travel agents are making a comeback!
Thank you for the amazing feedback. I can’t wait to read your blog and check out Y. Rousseau. Would love to include them in our next wine tasting trip. Thank you.
