4 Ways to Stay Cool at Universal Orlando

It is officially summer and here in Orlando it’s certainly hot outside! Whether you’ve chosen to stay at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort or Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, here are my favorite ways to stay cool when staying on-site at Universal Orlando Resort.    

Pools

Is there a better way to cool down than jumping in a gorgeous blue pool? I don’t think so! Lucky for you, our five on-site hotels at Universal Orlando offer 8 amazing pools. Each hotel offers a completely different and themed pool experience, plus there are water feature areas for non-swimmers to enjoy as well. (Insider Tip: As a hotel guest, you can enjoy any of the on-site hotel pools, take a day to enjoy the warm weather and pool hop!)

Drinks

Vacation is already pretty synonymous with fruity, umbrella-clad cocktails, and in the Florida sunshine they become the perfect addition to a hot afternoon. Beat the heat by sipping on a perfectly crafted drink at any of our on-site hotels. From Strawberry-Mango Smoothies to the perfect Pina Colada, there is something for everyone to enjoy! (Insider Tip: Don’t forget to take advantage of the Souvenir Drink Cups. They make perfect gifts to bring home and remind yourself of your amazing vacation and also give you a discount on your beverage refills!)

Games

If you’d rather be indoors, head on into our game rooms. All five of our on-site hotels have a game room equipped with video games from air hockey to racing games. (Insider Tip: At Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, you can challenge your friends and family to a friendly bowling match at Galaxy Bowl. I always like to enjoy an ice cold drink and some pizza while I play against my friends.)

Ride indoor attractions

The theme park is right in your backyard when you stay at one of our five on-site hotels. If you’re staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort or Hard Rock Hotel Orlando, you’ll want to make sure you grab your Universal Express Unlimited passes before heading on over to either Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure. I always like to come up with a game plan to hit all of the indoor rides during the hottest part of the day and save the water rides to cool me off after a long day in the parks. (Insider Tip: Wear your bathing suit and bring a light change of clothes in your theme park bag. It’ll come in handy after taking a plunge down Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls!)
