A vacation for a very special couple, coordinated by the For Pete’s Sake Foundation, turned into an amazing WOW getaway where memories were made.

William and Sharon had the vacation of a lifetime thanks to For Pete’s Sake Foundation and Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya!
The For Pete’s Sake Foundation, a non-profit organization that sends adult cancer patients on vacation, partnered with Apple Vacations to send William and Sharon C. to our resort. When Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya was informed of their upcoming stay, the foundation asked the staff to please make their vacation a memorable one, so the resort set out to do just that!
Day after day, the couple enjoyed protection from the sun in their complimentary Bali bed, specially decorated with a Philadelphia Eagles logo, the couple’s favorite football team. As a special surprise, the operations team organized a photo shoot with the couple going through various areas of the resort and ending on the beach, where there was a vow renewal ceremony waiting for them. The Chief Concierge proudly officiated the event and the staff enthusiastically participated, bringing tears of joy to the happy couple.
Kudos to the amazing staff at Secrets Akumal for their attention to detail and memories they made for a wonderful couple!
Immediately after, the couple had a romantic dinner on the beach and as a closing surprise, they were served breakfast in bed the next morning, accompanied with a beautiful replica of one of their wedding photos from 24 years ago! Even more tears of life and celebration followed! Upon departing the hotel, the happy couple said their goodbyes and told the staff “we were treated better than kings! Thank you to the Team of Secrets Akumal!” From Secrets Akumal, we wish this amazing couple all the best!!!
