Who’s ready for warmer weather? (Yep, us too!) With most of winter now behind us, it’s time to start planning your spring getaways. Whether you’re looking for beach time, lush green parks, the chance to work up a sweat or simply the ease of exploring a city on a lovely sunny afternoon, we’ve got some ideas to get your spring travel planning underway.
Table of Contents
San Diego & Coronado
Southern California is always a good idea, and it’s hard to beat Coronado and San Diego when it comes to the perfect spring weather. The beach is, of course, amazing, and there’s plenty of other spots to check out, whether you’re traveling with kids or pets or your group of besties. If you get the chance to get out on the water, sailing is one of San Diego’s greatest joys. If you prefer exploring on wheels, biking around Coronado island is a great way to get your exercise fix and see the best sights in town all in one afternoon.
Boston
As a city that typically suffers harsh winters, Boston is a great place to visit in the spring. When the sun is shining, there’s no better place to stroll and soak up fresh air and greenery than Boston Common. (Just ask Joey McIntyre!) Shopping for warm-weather clothes should also put a pep in your step: Newbury Street is our pick, even if you’re just browsing. And, of course, once spring really kicks in, you’ll want to eat outdoors and rub shoulders with the locals, who are thrilled to be outside after months of winter. We love stopping by one of Boston’s top food trucks and enjoying our lunch in the park.
Atlanta
With so many distinctive neighborhoods to explore, and the sprawling greenery of Piedmont Park, Atlanta comes alive in the spring. Whether you’re sniffing out the best of the city with your four-legged friend, or diving into Atlanta’s thriving art scene, there is more than enough to keep you occupied. And, once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll love the fact that Atlanta has so many well-regarded restaurants and bars. We recommend starting with this guide to the city’s best BBQ.
Annapolis
With cute cobblestone streets full of boutiques, bars and restaurants specializing in seafood, downtown Annapolis has all the ingredients for an easy, breezy spring getaway with the girls. But there is also a lot to do if you have the kids in tow, or if you’re traveling with your parents who want to check out the best tourist attractions in town. Of course, sitting on the Chesapeake Bay makes Annapolis a sea-faring visitor’s dream, and there’s no better time to sail or perhaps try stand-up paddleboarding than the spring.
Seattle
One of Loews Hotels’ newest destinations, Seattle, is an easy place to explore on foot, and walking around downtown will give you all the excuses you need to indulge in the city’s excellent food scene. Hotel 1000’s in-the-know concierge team will be giving us their inside scoop on Seattle’s best neighborhoods in the coming months, kicking things off with their guide to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. For more spring exploration in Seattle, head to the waterfront action of Pike Place Market, take a hike in Discovery Park, or try kayaking on Elliott Bay.
