There is nothing quite like having a picnic while sipping delicious wine and enjoying the views of the Napa Valley. So grab a blanket, some friends and plan accordingly:

Nichelini Winery has picnic areas below the winery and wine cellar that are open to all winery guests. Bring your own picnic and enjoy the accompanying bocce court, all in view of the original 1886 Homestead cabin, the last remaining Homestead cabin in Napa County. Purchase of a wine tasting or bottle of wine is required to use the picnic grounds. No outside alcohol allowed.
Pope Valley Winery welcomes guests to bring their own picnic with the purchase of a wine tasting, or reserve a tasting and picnic table and receive 10% off a bottle of wine to enjoy with your picnic. They also have bocce and cornhole to enjoy. No outside food or alcohol allowed.
Napa Cellars, just north of Yountville, welcomes guests to bring their own lunch to their lawns. Try to grab a picnic table or bring a blanket and enjoy the view. No outside alcohol allowed.
Rutherford Hill Winery’s picnic area offers one of the best views of Napa Valley high above the valley floor. A limited number of tables are available by reservation for smaller groups of leisure guests on a seasonal basis.  A fee of $75 per table applies (each table accommodating up to 8 guests) and includes stemless glassware for your entire group. This fee is waived with equal or greater valued wine or experience purchases. Please note: No outside alcohol allowed.

Oakville Grocery is the quintessential place to stop for a Napa Valley lunch. They feature a full service deli, marketplace and coffee counter. They have local goods and foods throughout the entire store as well as wine sold by the bottle. It’s also a great place to pick up gifts and other goodies. Bring a blanket to sit on their grass in front or enjoy a picnic table. No outside food or alcohol allowed.
V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena features a deli and marketplace with a fully loaded cheese bar that features more than 200 cheeses! They have a large picnic area with plenty of table and grass seating. They also have a huge BBQ on the weekends, weather permitting. No outside food or alcohol allowed.
Charles Krug Winery invites you to their “Outdoor Pizza Kitchen” Thursday through Monday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm (runs July-October). Relax on their tree-lined lawn and enjoy authentic Italian-style pizzas, made with herbs and vegetables from their estate garden and with selected meats from their Salumeria. No outside food or alcohol allowed.
Addendum by Thomas Kellar features a fun and casual outside picnic table experience. For $16.50, guests have a choice of either their famous buttermilk fried chicken or barbeque pork ribs or pulled pork sandwich, each accompanied by two house-made sides. Addendum is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s from 11:00am.- 2:00pm. This only runs from spring through harvest with exact dates varying. No outside food or alcohol allowed.
