No matter how amazing the Cabernet tasting, how extraordinary the farm-to-table cuisine, or how breathtaking the views, sometimes you just want to come home from a hard day in the Napa Valley and soak in an oversized tub. Or pamper yourself with artisanal amenities. Or lounge in an impossibly fluffy bathrobe. Here are a few local luxury properties with bathrooms that will take your breath away.
Bardessono. At this “green” boutique hotel in downtown Yountville, the guest suites are designed to double as private spas – their 200-square-foot bathrooms each feature a concealed massage table, soaking tub, separate shower, and double vanity. A “spa butler” arrives pre-treatment to set up the tables, light candles, draw the shades, and select music. After your massage, the butler can return to run a bath with bath salts and a bottle of Champagne. Just press the service light to summon the butler again to clean up. Some suites also offer outdoor soaking tubs.
Meadowood Napa Valley. The most recently renovated accommodation at this St. Helena resort, Hill House features dual vanities, a deep soaking tub and a glass walled standing shower. A second deck on the back of the guestroom offers more space to step outside, furnished with chaise lounge chairs, an additional fire pit, deep soaking tub, and outdoor shower.
Auberge du Soleil. Gasp-worthy valley views are also a feature of this Rutherford property. Its oversized bathrooms feature skylights, separate stall showers, massive tubs (some with Jacuzzis), double sinks, oversized towels, and thick terry robes. The Deluxe Private Garden Rooms and Suites have outdoor sculpted tubs and showers.
Carneros Resort and Spa. Experience this property’s “from-the-land” philosophy with cottage bathrooms that make you feel one with nature. In the spacious walk-in shower or its accompanying alfresco shower, fresh air combines with warm, pulsating jets. Or enjoy a refreshing soak in the large ceramic outdoor tub on your private patio. Heated tile floors ensure that nature doesn’t preclude comfort.
Las Alcobas. In this newly opened luxury hotel in downtown St. Helena, the guest bathrooms feature marble hand-carved sink basins, rain showers with barn-style sliding glass doors, and floor-to-ceiling Italian marble tile. The six Alcoves in the Acacia House also feature romantic, free-standing tubs in every room.
Calistoga Ranch. This sleek property, tucked in the hills just outside of Calistoga, features bathrooms with oversized windows and glass doors that lead to a private outdoor shower garden. These are designed around existing trees and feature wooden decks and walls, a copper rain shower, metal artwork, climbing vines, and aromatherapy bouquets of fresh rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus.
Poetry Inn. Perched on a hillside in the Stag’s Leap District with endless views over the valley floor, this property features sanctuary-like marble bathrooms with dual vanities, large soaking tubs, both indoor and outdoor showers with rain showerheads, heated bathroom floors, and that incredible valley view.
Napa River Inn. This downtown Napa favorite may have a vintage style, but the comfort is twenty-first century. Its Historic Deluxe rooms feature claw-foot soaking tubs and/or walk-in showers.
