WOW stories highlight an instance where the resort went above and beyond for a guest or group. We are excited to share this story with you from Secrets Akumal and we look forward to sharing more beautiful moments from our resorts!
Happy WOW Wednesday from Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya!
One of our guests, Erin, contacted the resort’s concierge team to request a room as close as possible to her mom’s room for their vacation to the resort. Her mom was traveling with a group of five friends who met back in high school and they were all coming to Secrets Akumal to celebrate her 70th birthday!
Ms. Erin was pleasantly surprised when she received a response from the resort with great ideas to commemorate this celebration and make it unforgettable! She gladly agreed to be the resort’s accomplice and provide the resort with information such as her mother’s high school yearbook.
When the day finally arrived, the whole operation was in motion for the big surprise in order to create a WOW effect from the moment the guests stepped into Secrets Akumal. The concierge team had prepared a banner that read “Welcome to Secrets Akumal, Class of 1965″ with the high school logo, and decorated their rooms with each guest’s name in the red and white colors of the high school logo.
Laughter, hugs and words of appreciation were immediately shared with the staff, but that was not all! The guests received an invitation to their “Graduation Dinner” that same night. They were escorted to the dinner and each guest was handed a rose corsage.
At the chef’s table there were photo frames with each of their photos from their senior year, which created the biggest WOW moment of the night! They all had a wonderful evening and in addition, the resort coordinated a photo session of the ladies with the Photo Adventures team.
Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya went above and beyond to create a WOW moment for these guests!
Ms. Erin sent the resort a thank you email with the word WOW in it and mentioned that she will be celebrating her 40th birthday in June – Erin would like to change her reservation to celebrate with her new friends at Secrets Akumal!
