3 Must-Visit Boston Museums

Boston is well known as a top-notch educational hub, so it’s no surprise that the city’s cultural and creative institutions are also on point. Here are 3 of our favorite must-visit Boston museums.

Museum of Science

If you are traveling with toddlers, then you definitely want to put this on the list of things to do in Boston. Located off the green line T stop, Science Park, the museum sits on the Charles River offering stunning views of the city. The Museum of Science has dozens of interactive exhibits that will keep kids amused for hours, from Cosmic Light displays to the “Science in the Park” attraction. Before you know it, you’ve spent all day thoroughly engaged and explored every corner of the museum’s exhibits. The Museum of Science is open year-round.

Boston Children’s Museum

The Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest of its kind in the United States. Every one of the exhibits (all 15-plus of them) is interactive, so this is a perfect place to bring the little ones and keep them entertained for hours. Located in the Seaport area with a large Hood Milk Jug in front, this museum is not hard to miss!

The Boston Athenaeum

If you’re looking to pass time between your next business meeting or if you’re traveling with your family who enjoys history, we suggest a visit to the Boston Athenaeum. This is the oldest independent library in the United States. With a fascinating art collection and antique book selection, the Athenaeum is a place for anyone who appreciates art and history. To fully enjoy what this library has to offer, a membership fee is paid every year. Luckily for Boston visitors, they offer tours of their art and architecture for members of the public. (Reservations are required.)
